We want you to know that your safety is our top priority. As a medical practice, we are used to following universal precautions for patient and staff safety. In addition to our normal precautions, we are following the guidelines of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and taking additional measures to ensure the safety of our patients. Please read below to learn more about what we are doing to help keep you safe.
Vaccination against COVID-19 is underway for Dr. Kane and staff. Staff are asked COVID-19 screening questions every day prior to work. Staff temperatures are checked daily prior to work. Staff wear face masks at all times during your visit. Exam rooms and points of patient contact are cleaned between each visit. In addition to wearing face masks, we use slit-lamp barriers (breath shields) on our microscopes. We limit the number of patients in the office at one time. As a locally based practice, we are sensitive to the needs of our community.
These are some suggestions of things you can do to enhance your safety. Please follow these guidelines during your visit to Tailored Eyes. Patients who are early for their visit may be asked to wait in their car and will be called by phone when it is time for your appointment. We ask that no additional family or friends join you for your visit unless their assistance is needed during your visit.
We will take your temperature with a non-contact thermometer on arrival. Please expect a few screening questions on arrival regarding any recent fevers, known exposures to coronavirus in the past 14 days, or any recent respiratory illness. Patients with elevated temperatures or with positive screening questionnaires will be asked to reschedule their appointment unless your eye problem is medically urgent or emergent. We will take additional safety precautions when necessary to protect your vision.
We ask that you wear your own surgical mask or face mask covering at all times during your visit. We offer screening telehealth visits for high-risk patients and patients with non-urgent issues. Rest assured, if you have an urgent eye problem, we will take care of you. We will wear the necessary personal protective equipment to ensure that you receive the best medical care possible.
At Tailored Eyes, your vision and your health are our priority.
